The mark, the word, and how to place them.
Everything here is free to use when writing about Warden. Take the files as they are — the clear space is already inside them.

Logo
The mark
A wedge with one square corner and three round ones. It is the product seen from above: a door held part of the way open by somebody else.
The SVGs are a single path with no stroke, no gradient and no embedded font, so they scale and recolour cleanly. warden-mark-current.svg takes its fill from currentColor, which is usually the easiest way to place it inline.
Wordmark
The mark, with the name
Use the lockup where Warden has not been named yet. Where the name is already in the sentence, the mark on its own is enough.
The word is set in Inter SemiBold and shipped as outlines, so the files need no font installed to render correctly. Do not re-set it yourself.
App icon
The icon
White on black, always. The icon has a margin of its own that is wider than the mark’s clear space, so the two files are not interchangeable.
The PNGs are the icon itself, exactly as it ships: square, no alpha channel, and carrying the soft metallic gradient that a flat vector cannot express. Every platform that shows an icon applies its own corner. The SVG is a flat, rounded reproduction for a deck or a web page that will not round it for you — use a PNG wherever you are actually showing the app.
Clear space
Give it room, and a floor
Clear space is one quarter of the mark’s height on every side. It is already built into every file here, so placing one flush inside its own box is correct.
The dashed edge is the file’s own boundary. Nothing else may enter it.
Minimum size, mark
24 px on screen
10 mm in print. Below that the square corner stops reading and it turns into a blob.
Minimum size, wordmark
88 px wide
30 mm in print. Under that, use the mark on its own and put the name in the surrounding text.
Colour
Black, white, and the greys between
Warden has no brand hue. The interface is monochrome on purpose, and colour inside the product means one thing only — a state, not a surface — so it is not part of what you would use to represent us.
Black
The ground. Every dark surface.
Surface
Cards and panels on black.
Ink
Primary text on dark.
Dim
Secondary text and captions.
On a light ground the relationship simply inverts: the mark goes black, the page stays white. There is no third option, and no tinted version of either.
Typography
One face on the web
Inter, at four weights. Headlines get weight and negative tracking rather than a second typeface.
Display · Inter 600 · −0.03em
Someone else holds the key.
Body · Inter 400 · 17/1.5
An app blocker you cannot switch off yourself. Pick what to block, then give one person you trust the only way to open it early.
Label · Inter 500 · uppercase · 0.08em
Still locked · Sara has it
Inter is free under the SIL Open Font Licence. The iOS app uses SF Pro for interface text and Bricolage Grotesque for display, neither of which you need in order to write about Warden — set our name in whatever your own publication uses.
Words
Two roles, and how they are spelled
The vocabulary carries more of the product than the logo does. These two words are the whole idea.
Owner
The person whose apps are blocked. Capital O when naming the role. They pay, and they choose the rule in the first place — Warden is not something done to them.
Keyholder
The person who approves or denies an early unlock. Capital K, one word, never “key holder”. Free forever, and a real person in the Owner’s life rather than a service.
The product is Warden, capital W, never “the Warden app” in a sentence that already says what it is. Sentence case everywhere, including headlines.
A denied request is held, not rejected or refused. Denial is a good outcome in this product and is never written as a failure.
Warden gives time back. It never saves it. Hours saved would need a week that never happened, and nothing can measure that — please do not attribute a saved-time figure to us.
Rules
Do, and don't
Please do
- Do: Use the white mark on dark grounds and the black mark on light ones.
- Do: Leave the clear space empty, including in a co-branded lockup.
- Do: Match optical height rather than pixel height when placing the mark beside another logo.
- Do: Use these files as they are, at any size above the floor.
- Do: Write the product as “Warden” and the roles as “Owner” and “Keyholder”.
Please don’t
- Don't: Stretch, rotate, skew, outline or otherwise redraw the mark.
- Don't: Recolour it. There is no coloured version, including a tinted one.
- Don't: Add a shadow, a glow, a gradient or a border to it.
- Don't: Put the mark on a photograph or a busy ground without a solid panel behind it.
- Don't: Set the wordmark yourself in another typeface, or letter-space it.
- Don't: Imply that Warden endorses, sponsors or is partnered with you unless we have agreed that in writing.
Boilerplate
What to say about us
One line
Warden is an iPhone app that blocks distracting apps and gives the only early unlock to someone you trust.
One paragraph
Warden is an iPhone app that blocks distracting apps. It differs from every other blocker in one way: when you want out early, you cannot let yourself out. You send a request to a Keyholder — a partner, a sibling, a friend — who approves it or holds it. An emergency override always works instantly and offline, without anyone’s permission.
Warden has not launched, so there are no App Store ratings, awards, user numbers or press quotes to cite, and no product screenshots here yet. If you need imagery for a story, ask and we will send what exists.
