Something not working?

Most problems are one of these. For anything else, send us a message and a person will read it.

I need out right now

Use the emergency override in Settings. It works instantly, offline, and without anyone’s approval. Your streak resets and your Keyholder is told, which is the whole trade.

Nothing on this page is more important than that one. If you are stuck, start there rather than reading on.

Nothing is being blocked

Check Screen Time access first, in iOS Settings. Warden cannot put a shield in front of anything without it.

If access was switched off, your Keyholder has already been told. Turning it back on continues your streak from where it paused rather than starting over.

If access is on and nothing is blocked, open Settings, then Safety, then Shield diagnostics. It reports what the app thinks the shield should be doing and what it is actually doing, and the two disagreeing is the bug worth reporting.

A shield will not lift after approval

Close the blocked app fully and open it again. iOS does not always re-evaluate a shield for an app that is already in the foreground.

If it is still there after reopening, check the diagnostics screen above. A granted window runs from the moment your Keyholder answered, so a short grant that arrived late may already have expired.

My Keyholder cannot approve

They need Warden installed and notifications allowed. Setup takes about a minute and costs nothing.

If they are answering from a link in a browser instead, only the device that first opened that link can approve. Changed phones means a fresh invite from your Settings.

I never got a reply

Requests close themselves after thirty minutes and you stay locked. That is the designed outcome, not a fault.

While one is open you can nudge them again after two minutes, which re-sends the notification without creating a second request. After a hold, you can ask again in fifteen minutes.

Notifications are late or missing

Check notifications are allowed for Warden on both phones. Requests expire rather than queuing forever, so one that arrives very late will not be delivered at all, by design.
